ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. It is a 13-digit number used to identify your book for commercial and industrial purpose. You will need different types for different formats for your book. If you are reading this that means you’re about to self-publish your book. That’s a good idea.
To get ISBN simply present:
1. An ISBN application. This letter will be directed to the Director of the National Library on your company’s letter headed paper.
N. Be The national library is located at University of Ibadan, Oyo.
2. ISBN application form
3. A photocopy of certification of incorporation of your company (as registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria -CAC).
N.B. This is only important for publishers
4. A copy of the book you wish to publish.
5. Registration fee, which is 2500 at the University of Ibadan.

    2. The cac certificate must it be for book publishing or general merchandise?
    3. As a self publisher, do I really need to present my cac certificate.
